What DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ is designed to do

This is a concentrated cosmetic treatment for skin that is prone to visible congestion, excess surface oil, roughness and post-blemish unevenness. The formulation combines BHA-led pore and surface care with complementary acid and antioxidant support.

Clarify

Visible pore + congestion support

Salicylic acid is oil-compatible and supports the visible condition of clogged-looking pores and congestion-prone areas.

Renew

Texture refinement

Lactic acid and gluconolactone complement BHA with controlled surface-renewal support for smoother-looking skin.

Support

Antioxidant defence

A supporting antioxidant system helps defend the formulation and skin surface against oxidative and environmental stress.

The exfoliating active system

DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ uses a deliberately layered hydroxy-acid architecture rather than relying on a single exfoliating ingredient.

2%

Salicylic Acid · BHA

The principal clarifying active. Salicylic acid supports clearer-looking pores, smoother texture and the visible condition of oily or congestion-prone skin.

2.62%

Lactic Acid · AHA

Provides complementary surface-renewal support while also contributing to the formulation’s acidic treatment environment.

2.5%

Gluconolactone · PHA

A polyhydroxy acid that supports gentle surface refinement while contributing humectant and skin-conditioning properties.

Why formulation pH matters: the performance and ionisation behaviour of hydroxy acids are influenced by the finished formulation environment. DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ is formulated in an acidic range appropriate to its multi-acid treatment architecture; use it as directed rather than combining it with additional exfoliating products in the same routine.

Supporting formulation architecture

Exfoliating acids are only one part of the product. DermaClear also uses a broader formulation system intended to support delivery, skin feel, hydration and antioxidant protection.

Green Micellar™ formulation system

Micellar Cosmetics™ proprietary formulation architecture.

  • Provides the structural base for the serum and its mixed active system.
  • Supports a lightweight, spreadable leave-on format rather than a heavy cream vehicle.
  • Helps integrate oil-compatible and water-compatible formulation components within one treatment system.
  • Designed for stable, practical cosmetic use rather than ingredient-level performance in isolation.

Antioxidant + conditioning support

Complementary support around the exfoliating acid system.

  • Vitamin C derivative support for antioxidant and radiance-focused care.
  • Ferulic acid and tocotrienol antioxidant support.
  • Creatine and skin-conditioning components to broaden the treatment profile.
  • Humectant support helps maintain a more comfortable leave-on serum experience.

How to use

Begin conservatively. More frequent exfoliation is not necessarily better, particularly when several hydroxy acids are present in the same product.

1

Cleanse + dry

Use a mild cleanser and allow the skin to dry fully before applying the serum.

2

Apply a thin layer

Use a small amount over selected congestion-prone areas or a thin layer over the face as directed. Avoid the eye contour and lips.

3

Follow with simple hydration

Use AquaLock™ or another non-exfoliating moisturiser if additional hydration or comfort is required.

Introduction: begin on one or two non-consecutive evenings per week. Increase only if the skin remains comfortable. Persistent dryness, stinging, tightness or flaking is a reason to reduce frequency.

Compatibility + precautions

Keep the rest of the routine relatively simple while introducing DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™.

Recommended

  • Use primarily in the evening.
  • Introduce gradually on non-consecutive nights.
  • Follow with simple hydration when needed.
  • Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.
  • Patch test before widespread use.
  • Allow the skin to return to normal before restarting after irritation.

Avoid or use caution

  • Do not layer with DermaClear BHA Clarifying Toner™ in the same routine.
  • Avoid additional strong AHA/PHA/BHA exfoliants, peels or abrasive scrubs on the same evening during introduction.
  • Avoid combining with retinoid treatments on the same evening until tolerance and routine structure are well established.
  • Do not apply to broken, inflamed, recently shaved or recently exfoliated skin.
  • Stop use if persistent burning, marked redness or swelling occurs.

Where it fits in a routine

DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ is best treated as the active step of the evening routine rather than one layer among several strong treatments.

Before

Gentle cleansing

Remove sunscreen, makeup and surface debris without adding another exfoliating step.

Treatment

DermaClear BHA Serum™

Use as the principal active treatment on the selected evening.

After

Simple hydration

Finish with AquaLock™ or a compatible non-exfoliating moisturiser where required.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a 2% salicylic acid serum?

Yes. DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ contains 2% salicylic acid as the principal BHA within a broader multi-acid cosmetic formulation.

Can I use it every night?

Not initially. Begin with limited non-consecutive use and increase only when the skin remains comfortable. Many users do not need nightly exfoliation.

Can I use the BHA Toner™ and Serum™ together?

No. They should be treated as alternative DermaClear clarifying formats and used on separate evenings rather than layered in the same routine.

Can I use retinol on the same night?

During introduction, use retinoids on separate evenings. Combining multiple potentially irritating actives can increase dryness, stinging and barrier stress.

Why does sunscreen matter?

Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is an important part of any routine containing exfoliating acids and helps protect skin from further UV-related visible unevenness.

Is this an acne medicine?

No. DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ is a cosmetic product intended to support clearer-looking pores, smoother texture and the visible condition of blemish-prone skin. It is not intended to diagnose or treat acne or any disease.

Build a controlled DermaClear routine

For customers using both DermaClear BHA formats, follow the separate-evening rotation guide rather than layering the Serum™ and Toner™ together.

Cosmetic product information only. DermaClear BHA Clarifying Serum™ is intended to support the appearance and condition of oily, congestion-prone or blemish-prone skin and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent acne or any other disease. Follow final packaging directions. If irritation persists, discontinue use and seek appropriate professional advice.
